Message from the CWHRA

Hello All,

With the passing of our Finals we are proud to announce the new CWHRA Finals Champion. Congratulations to Jeff Jaarsma, Stan Newton and Dave Dielman on their clean sweep in Strathmore over the weekend. It was a close call on the final day, but Jeff’s team pulled out the win. Way to go!

Not only did these guys take the title of Finals Champion, they also took away the awards for ‘Rookie Team of the Year’, ‘Season Leader’ and ‘Individual Rookie of the Year’. Quite a feat if you ask us!

As all members should know, we hosted our 2014 AGM in Strathmore over weekend. It was eventful to say the least, however, very few changes were introduced. Any rule amendments will be posted shortly so keep your eyes peeled.

We would like to welcome our new Board of Directors for the 2015 Season. Most of whom are familiar faces to you all with the exception of our new Northern Alberta Regional Representative, Mark Trabysh. Congratulations everyone. I trust that each and every board member will do their best during the season to help keep this association running smoothly.

On that note, we have some new information we would like to share with you. We will be hosting a By-Election at the start of September to fill the spot of CWHRA President. Due to some unforeseen circumstances we are looking for a replacement at this time and will be accepting new nominations. If you know of anyone that may be interested, or you feel that you might be the perfect candidate please contact any Board of Director to provide them with your nomination. Details of this election can be found in the ‘News’ section of our website.

We have a few upcoming rodeos over the next two weeks, with Sundre Bulls and Wagons on August 8th and the Wasylciw Ranch Fall Roundup August 16th to 17th. Wishing all the best to those teams competing.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to direct them to your regional representative. They are happy to help!

As always, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you down the road!
