Message from the CWHRA

Hello All,

As our 2014 Season comes to a close there are several people we need to thank and congratulate.

I know we've missed a few of you along the way, but we would like to congratulate the teams that came out on top over these past few weeks.

It was a wet and wild show in Ponoka over the Canada Day Long Weekend, but none of the guys seemed to complain.

The Jason Loken team stayed ahead of the pack, resulting in the young Cody Loken winning his very first buckle. Congratulations you guys. You deserved it!

We'd also like to recognize our teams who competed on the other side of the Rockies over the long weekend. Congratulations to the Kyle Harstad team for stealing the show at Williams Lake Stampede.

Last, but certainly not least, Congrats to the Waylon Wasylciw team for your win up in Hairy Hill. Everyone knew the final standings would come down to the last rodeo of our 2014 season. Needless to say it certainly shook things up.

All in all it was a great season and we couldn't have done it without our Members and Supporters. You guys all keep the wheels spinning. Thank you!

The standings have been updated, but are not yet official. The results and awards for Season Leader, Rookie Team and Individual Rookie of Year will be presented at the AGM in Strathmore this coming August.

We would like to thank our President, John Verbeek, for all of the great things he has done for the association over the past two years. John has not only volunteered his time, but other resources as well. He kindly donated three video cameras to ensure each representative had the proper equipment for each rodeo. John's hard work and passion for this sport certainly didn't go unnoticed.

And to our 2014 Board of Directors. You all have spent many hours to ensure the season ran as smoothly as possible. You have fielded many calls, questions and concerns, as well as acted as advocates for our members. Each of you have worked hard and are very much appreciated. Thank you!

Please note, with the end of the season also comes the voting of our new Board of Directors. Details have been posted in our 'News' Section. As we have provided some important information in there we hope that you will review it. We will be accepting Nominations for all available positions up until July 28th, so please ensure you contact your Representative prior to this date.

The CWHRA will be hosting our Annual General Meeting at the CWHRA Finals in Strathmore on Sunday August 3, 2014. It will be held at the Chuck Mercer room in the Strathmore Civic Center. We have changed it up and decided to host the meeting at 6:00PM that evening versus our usual morning meetings. More information will be provided in the 'News' section of our website. If there are any matters that you wish to mention, please be sure to mark them down as this is the time to bring them forward. We always welcome your feedback.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to direct them to your regional representative. They are happy to help!

We hope to see you at the AGM and are looking forward to the start of our 2015 Season.
